A new multimedia project is bringing Lexington history to life through film.

In January of this year, two severe winter storm events and weeks of subfreezing temperatures disrupted the city and delayed school openings. This week, Lexington’s Environmental Quality and Public Works Committee review the snow plan for the upcoming season.

The 127 Yard Sale takes place the first weekend of August. It spans six states and 690 miles - over 200 of which pass through central and southern Kentucky.

Four months ago, the Kentucky river in Frankfort rose to 48.3 feet during the city’s second highest recorded flood. As recovery efforts continue, J. Mattingly 1845 Distillery is releasing a new limited-edition bourbon with a portion of every sale going towards the Franklin County Community Fund’s Flood Relief Fund.

The pawpaw-flavored pop is a new limited-edition flavor inspired by the native Kentucky fruit.
