Dan Collins

For nearly seven years, Dan's voice could be heard on radio frequencies spanning the usable range--but his only listeners were pilots. As a member of the U.S. Air Force, Dan molded his rich, velvety tone coordinating strikes via the airwaves of Iraq and Afghanistan.

A native Lexingtonian, Dan returned with his family in 2011 after honorably completing his military service. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky, then toiled with computers for a few years before seizing an opportunity to join the WUKY team. He currently hosts the Saturday morning broadcast of Weekend Edition.

Dan is a passionate storyteller and dreams to be a successful and reclusive author one day. In his free time he reads, writes, bangs on the drums, and takes adult-league soccer way too seriously.
