The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government (LFUCG) Emergency Operations Center (EOC) has been deactivated. The ice storm warning has been canceled. A winter weather advisory will be in effect until 10am.

Due to severe weather Fayette County Public Schools and the University of Kentucky will be closed on Friday.

On Wednesday the Governor Declared a State of Emergency and activated the Emergency Operations Center in Frankfort. Karyn Czar was with KDEM Manager Michael Dossett this morning as he and his team monitored the storm.

Mayor Linda Gorton and representatives from various city departments detailed their action plans to deal with an ice storm which was expected to move through Lexington starting Thursday afternoon.

The University of Kentucky will be closed on Thursday, Feb. 3 due to inclement weather. In-person classes will not take place on campus. Ifstudents have questions about their class status, they should contact their instructor.
