Saving Stories: Nunn Center's 'OutSouth' LGBTQ+ Oral History Collection A Matter Of Pride

Nunn Center for Oral History

June is Pride Month and in this edition of WUKY's Award Winning History Series, Saving Stories, Doug Boyd, Director of the Louie B. Nunn Center for Oral History in the UK Libraries, shares an interview from their OutSouth collection.  In this 2018 interview, Jack L. Coffmanshares his experiences being gay during the 1960s, 1970s, and beyond, and talks about the love of his life, Teddy, as well as about working in IT at the University of Kentucky for a number of years, his friendships, and life in Lexington over the decades.

Through a partnership between the Nunn Center and the University of Kentucky's Office of LGBTQ* Resources, this oral history collection documents the individual lives of Southern LGBTQ+ individuals, and commemorates the ways those individuals have advanced LGBTQ+ communities both regionally and nationally.
