The Wild & Scenic Festival is a captivating selection of short outdoor adventure and activism films, hosted by the Kentucky Conservation Committee. The Festival includes 11 great short outdoor adventure films, plus an evening of fun with door prizes at the Farish Theater at Lexington’s Central Library.
Films Begin: 7 pm ET. (Theater doors open at 6:30 pm. for auction and information tables from our sponsors).
This event benefits the Kentucky Conservation Committee.

Lexington Roots & Heritage Festival
For over 30 years, the Roots & Heritage Festival has been a cornerstone of diversity, entertainment, and cultural education in Central Kentucky. This vibrant event celebrates African-American culture and the city’s many communities through a rich blend of food, music, performances, educational programming, a parade, and local vendors.
Festival Hours:
Friday: 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
Saturday: 11:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. (Parade typically held Saturday morning)
Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Activities Include:
Live music and performances from regional and touring artists
Family-friendly programming
Food vendors serving local and regional cuisine
Numerous vendors offering crafts, clothing, and cultural goods — including many Black-owned businesses

250LEX: A Concert for Lexington will be a free celebration featuring the world premiere of a commissioned orchestral work, "A Mighty Long Way," composed by Lexington native and internationally-recognized composer Shawn Okpebholo. Performed by the Lexington Philharmonic, the commissioned piece will be the centerpiece of a community concert that will present performances and recognition of other notable Lexington musicians and composers including Ben Sollee, Joslyn and the Sweet Compression, and the Central Kentucky Youth Orchestra.

Starting at 1PM, join the free, pre-concert celebration on the Singletary Center lawn. Enjoy a performance by M'Power Rhythm, conversation with Lexington Philharmonic Music Director Mélisse Brunet and guests, interactive activities by the Carnegie Center for Literacy & Learning and the Living Arts & Science Center, refreshments, and more.

Mark your calendars for our 5th Annual Kentucky Food Truck State Championship in Renfro Valley, Kentucky on September 13, 2025.  We will have over 40 Food Trucks, 30+ Craft Vendors, as well as Beer and Wine Garden.  Competitors are judged by a 4 judge panel for overall champion and category winners. Attendees will get the chance to vote for their favorite in the special People’s Choice Award.
Event kicks off at 11:00 AM and goes through 6:00 PM.  We are located right off I-75 at Exit 62 (Renfro Valley). You will park at Renfro Valley Entertainment Center, located at 2380 Richmond Street, Mt. Vernon, KY. Then walk over the bridge to the RV Park.  It is FREE to attend with $5 per vehicle parking fee.

Georgetown College

In 2022, Dr. Rosemary Allen became the first woman to serve as president of Georgetown College in its 196-year history. The signature accomplishment of her presidency is the successful $28.5 million fundraising campaign, which allowed the college to pay off its long-term debt. During her tenure as a professor, her dedication to teaching earned her top awards for teaching excellence, implementation of technology, and student mentorship.

Join the Imperial Court of Kentucky at The Bar Complex at 8:00 pm on Saturday 27 September for the Julie Vaughn Memorial Closet Ball.

First time drag performers (never accepted tips or payment for performing in drag before) will be paired with a local drag performer and have an hour to get in drag. Then they’ll compete in a pageant to be Closet Ball winner 2025. 22nd Judicial District of Kentucky

A lifelong public servant and advocate for justice, and trailblazer, Judge Gunther began her career in the Department of Defense. After earning a law degree from the University of Kentucky, she served as a juvenile prosecutor, created the Truancy Intervention Program, and, since 2021, has served as a Fayette District Court judge. She serves on the Kentucky District Judges Association Judicial Education Committee and several civic boards and commissions.
