Community Calendar

Every fall the halls of the Carnegie Center transform into a celebration of a classic tale. This immersive experience with entertainment, heavy appetizers, an open bar, and plenty of surprises, will transport you into the pages of the book. Costumes are encouraged and party goers always rise to the occasion!

This event has been a sold out evening in the past, so buy your tickets today to make sure that you don’t miss out!

Stop by International Book Project on Friday, November 21 to browse hundreds of FREE books! You're likely to find something for everyone - adults and children, fiction and nonfiction, bestsellers and indie finds, and more.📚

- Free Book Friday will take place from 9am to 5pm.
- Limit 1 box per guest until 4pm. After 4pm, you can take as much as you like!
- No purchase is necessary, but donations are greatly appreciated!
- This offer is first come, first served. No holds.
- This offer is available while supplies last.
- Only the books on the tables and carts labeled "FREE" will be free. The books on the shelves will be for sale for $5 or less!

Get your last-minute holiday shopping done with us at International Book Project's 4th annual Sip & Shop Holiday Market! This year's market will feature handcrafted products from a dozen local artisans, delicious food, bestselling books, and beer from West 6th Brewing!

Stop by on December 13 between 12pm-4pm to browse our wares, sip on a beer, or relax with a new-to-you book. If you find something perfect for a special person in your life, we will happily wrap it up for you at our donation-based gift-wrapping station!

You'll be shopping for a great cause, too: 50% of profits from West 6th's beer sales and all of the proceeds from bookstore sales will directly support IBP's mission of promoting literacy worldwide.

Join Lexington Children’s Theatre and the Kentucky Black Writers Collaborative for a magical evening of stories, spoken word, and community. Before the Pay What You Will performance of The Princess Who Lost Her Hair, experience an open mic celebration where local authors and community voices share their words alongside KBWC’s Black & Lit Book Club and Burn the Mic series. Come listen. Come share. Come be part of the story.
