This week on UK Perspectives we talk to Deirdre Scaggs, Co-Chair of the UK Sesquicentennial Committee, about the university's week-long 150th anniversary celebration.

Next week, the University of Kentucky's Martin Luther King Center will host a screening of Dear White People, a 2014 film that follows several African-American students and how they fit in at a mostly white university.  For this week's UK Perspectives, Chase Cavanaugh sat down with the center's director, Kahlil Baker, to discuss the movie and how it touches on race.

Valentine’s Day is looming—and it’s a perfect time to start a new routine: your annual relationship checkup. On this edition of UK Perspectives, Ron Werner Wilson, chair of UK’s Department of Family Services, explains why you should schedule your free checkup now. Appointments may be scheduled between Monday February 9 and Tuesday February 17, including Valentine’s Day at the Family Center on the UK Campus. The Center will be closed on Sunday February 15. The appointment line is 257-7755.
