UK Perspectives: Interview With Doug Way, New Dean Of UK Libraries

Doug Way became the new dean of UK Libraries this past July. He came to UK from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he served as associate librarian for Collections and Research Service. We discuss his optimism about the future of libraries, the benefits to UK students of having the library as a “third space”, and the King Library’s newest exhibit devoted to the role of Kentucky Women in the suffrage movement one century ago.

Tom Godell has been the General Manager of WUKY since April 2004. Earlier in his career he served as Senior Producer with WBHM in Birmingham AL, Program Director of WLRH in Huntsville AL, and Associate Director of Broadcasting for Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. He is a dog lover, cycling enthusiast, second baseman (willing to play anytime, anywhere), and music fanatic. His writings on music have appeared in the American Record Guide, Fanfare magazine, the All Music Guide, and RCA Records.
