The University of Kentucky Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2022 was announced Thursday, with Jim Andrews (men’s basketball), Derek Bryant (baseball), Dezerea Bryant (women’s track and field), Keenan Burton (football), Mike Lyden (swimming and diving) and Kelsey Nunley-Moore (softball) chosen for induction. The new Hall of Famers will be inducted during Hall of Fame Weekend on November 10-12.

Rhyne Howard, the most decorated player in Kentucky women's basketball history, addedanother milestone Monday as she was selected first overall at the 2022 WNBA Draft by the Atlanta Dream. Held at Spring Studios in New York, Howard made history at the draft, becoming the first Kentucky women's basketball player ever to be selected first overall.

Oscar Tshiebwe of Kentucky is The Associated Press men's college basketball player of the year. The 6-foot-9, 255-pound junior received 46 of 60 votes from a national media panel.

Following an historic season-long performance on the hardwood in 2021-22, Kentucky men’s basketball junior forward Oscar Tshiebwe made history again on Tuesday. Tshiebwe became the first Kentucky player and the first player from the Southeastern Conference to earn National Player of the Year honors from the National Association of Basketball Coaches. He was also tabbed the Pete Newell Big Man of the Year.
