Mayor Linda Gorton will introduce Dr Jeremy Popkin who will give a PowerPoint illustrated lecture about the true history of downtown Lexington's 250 years of history and present the new book "Gratz Park, the Heart of Historic Lexington". Entertaining and informative tails of slavery, free blacks living a few doors down from the Confederate raider John Hunt Morgan, murder fueled by jealousy , Jim Crow and the colored reading room, the cholera epidemic and unique and outstanding architecture.
