Schools Reopen In Anderson County With Increased Security

Anderson County High School

Students in Anderson County return to class today. Schools were closed last Friday after a man threatened to carry out a school shooting at the High School. 20-year old Dylan Jarrell was arrested after he made threats against the school to a New Jersey woman on social media. She contacted authorities which led to Jarrell.

Authorities found weapons, more than 200 rounds of ammunition and a plan of attack in his possession. Jarrell lives near the high school in Lawrenceburg. He was questioned in May by the FBI over similar social media threats to a school in Tennessee.

School officials say students and parents should expect a large police presence at the school today as a precaution.
