The population of Lexington is about to go up by several thousand people in the next few days. It’s move in day at the University of Kentucky and upperclassmen, faculty and alum are giving new students and their families a big blue welcome.
UK President Dr. Eli Capilouto was also on hand to shake hands with incoming freshmen moving into the dorms near the 90. He even offered some hugs to a few emotional parents and said he remembers well when he was in their shoes.
2,000 students are moving into the dorms today, another 1,500 tomorrow and 2,000 more on Friday. Classes begin at UK next Wednesday.
