Since 1998, the Bluegrass Community and Technical College system has expanded to offer adult education curriculum in Anderson, Clark, Estill, Fayette, Scott, and Woodford Counties. In the 2024–2025 academic year alone, the program served 1,448 students. BCTC surpassed the state average of learners achieving a Measurable Skill Gain, a federally recognized benchmark, by 5.4%.
Dr. Greg Feeney, BCTC President and CEO, released a statement reading in part: “Our Adult Education program is about more than earning a GED; it’s about empowering individuals with the skills, confidence, and support they need to thrive in today’s workforce and beyond.”
The expansion is supported by a grant from the Kentucky Education and Labor Cabinet's Office of Adult Education.
The first round of classes began at the BCTC Versailles location earlier this month.
