House Democrats are eying Kentucky's Sixth District congressional seat as a potential pick-up in 2026.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reports the Democratic Campaign Caucus Committee has listed the district as one of their 35 Republican-held “Districts in Play” for next year's cycle.

While the seat has long been held by Republican Andy Barr — who has won decisive victories in the district — Barr could run for Sen. Mitch McConnell's seat and Democrats say frustration with Trump administration executive orders, potential Medicaid cuts, and other issues lead drive voters to make a change.

At a recent Democratic town hall, attendee Lloyd Beagle was one of the voters fired up about flipping the district.

"The Sixth District of Kentucky is being misrepresented, if being represented at all," he said at the Lyric Theatre event.

Republican Party of Kentucky spokesman Andy Westberry said Democrats are "wasting time and money on the district" — one that Republicans have carried by 25-plus points in the last two elections.
