Lex Talk History: a lost and found story of a very old cabin in Lexington and the man who sought to unravel the mystery
Bryan Station, established in 1779 in Lexington, Kentucky, was a crucial frontier settlement founded by William Bryan, an early pioneer from Virginia. As one of the most fortified outposts in the region, it played a key role in the defense of settlers against Native American attacks during the tumultuous years of Kentucky's settlement. Learn about a new discovery of a possible William Bryan cabin that stood off of Clay's Mill. Alan and Mandy welcome amateur sleuth Eric McAnallen as he tells the story of the forgotten cabin connected to the Bryan family.

This week on WUKY's Open Studio, Tom welcomes in Lexington native and newly minted Pulitzer prize winning feature photographer Jahi Chikwendiu. He talks about his early days at the Herald Leader and his now 25 year career at the Washington Post. Jahi was named winner of the 2026 Pulitzer Prize in Feature Photography for a powerful series of images he made for the Post last year.

The WUKY SportsPage podcast is back with this all-encompassing conversation with former Wildcat great Kevin Grevey. He talks about his recruitment to UK, his relationship with Coach Joe B. Hall, a college career that included an SEC championship in his sophomore season, a 13-13 season the next year, and a national runner-up season as he and his senior teammates capped their UK careers in 1975. He also reflects on the meaning of the NBA championship and the leadership that veteran Wes Unseld provided, inspiring a team that went 44-38 in the regular season to go all the way.

Dr. Greg: CBD, THC combo can improve late stage dementia patients' quality of life
Many patients with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias have agitation that can be quite stressful for them and their caregivers. Now there's new evidence that a groundbreaking clinical trial exploring the use of medical marijuana in managing symptoms of late-stage dementia could benefit patients. Dr. Greg talks with Dr. Greg Jicha, director of clinical trials at the University of Kentucky Sanders Brown Center on Aging.
