With Major League Baseball on its All Star Break Keith hooked up with Cincinnati Reds broadcaster and former major leaguer Chris Welsh. He talks about growing up as a Reds fan, his start in baseball, the unusual way he found out he had made the San Diego roster, his rocky start as a batting practice pitcher for the Reds in the early 70s, as well as the status of the current Reds, who are in contention in the National League Central.

Chris Welsh grew up in Cincinnati, pitched for the Reds, and is now in his 29th year as a Reds broadcaster. He also pitched for San Diego, Montreal and Texas before Reds manager Pete Rose helped him get back to Cincinnati.  A graduate of Cincinnati St. Xavier High School, he went on to play college baseball at the University of South Florida, including one year under Hall of Famer Robin Roberts, before signing with the New York Yankees after being drafted in the 21st round in 1977.  In addition to his broadcasting duties, he is also the founder and owner of the Baseball Rules Academy, which provides extensive information and demonstrations concerning some of baseball's more unusual plays and rulings.
