Not Your Average Estate Sale This Weekend In Lexington

An estate sale featuring fine art and antiques from around the world is taking place in Lexington this weekend. As WUKY’s Arlo Barnette reports, the collection of historic items is valued at over $200,000.

The historic artwork, furniture, and artifacts occupying the home of the late Larry Bynum are eclectic, well-cared-for, and almost too numerous to fit in the house. A 42-star US flag, sterling silver julep cups, 19th-century quilts, baccarat candelabra, bronze statues, antique Chinese sculpture, and stools from the mid-16-hundreds stand alongside original paintings and prints by artists including LeRoy Neiman and a collection of works by Russian artist Erte.

S.E. Drake, the son of the man who established Lexington’s first car dealership, was the original curator of the collection. He then passed it on to Larry Bynum.

The estate sale can be found at 972 Village Green Avenue from Friday through Sunday, 9am to 2pm. Sign up is at 8am.
