The Fayette County Health Department has released the latest COVID-19 numbers for this past weekend. Of the 341 new cases, 180 were reported on Saturday and 161 on Sunday. There were two more COVID-19 related deaths as well, however, eight are listed on the report.
Health Department officials said that was due to six cases from 2020 that were being reviewed. It was determined that three cases from November and three from December were related to the virus. The city has now had 28,355 confirmed positive cases and 187 deaths since the first case was confirmed in Kentucky last March.
