CRAVE Festival returns to its original home at Moondance Amphitheater this weekend

Lexington’s CRAVE Festival is still going after more than a decade. This year’s festival – set for this weekend – will be a kind of homecoming.

Founded by Smiley Pete Publishing, CRAVE is a two-day event showcasing local food and music, and this year it's coming back to the spot where it all started at Moondance Amphitheatre.

"And so it's kind of a return home. So we're happy and excited to be back there this year," says Smiley Pete publisher Chris Eddie. "We have 11 music acts over two days, Saturday and Sunday. We've got over 30 local vendors and we have stuff for kids. We've got stuff for adults. It's going to be a lot of fun for everyone."

Eddie says one cool feature of the festival is that local food vendors offer $3 and $5 dollar small plates, allowing visitors to sample a wide variety of offerings without hitting the pocketbook too hard.

"You know you can come out to enjoy some live music, eat some great food while your kids play," Eddie says. "You can have a cocktail or beer and have a good time."

The festival runs from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Saturday and 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday. Parking is free and tickets are $12, or $15 for the whole weekend.
