DiverCity Fest promises another glimpse into Lexington's many cultural influences

divercitylexington.com

A festival celebrating the many cultures that make up Lexington is returning to the Courthouse Plaza this weekend.

It’s called the DiverCity – see what they did there? – Festival and its aim is to showcase a variety of cultural contributions in the heart of the city. This year, that means upwards of 70 booths, 25 food vendors, and more than 45 scheduled performances.

The Festival came about in 2019 and has maintained a three-word objective ever since: Educate. Embrace. Celebrate.

Performances will take place on the Main Stage on Short Street. Cuisine will range from Japanese street food to vegan fair from Moody Mike’s.

The free event is this Saturday from noon to 7.

Josh James fell in love with college radio at Western Kentucky University's student station, New Rock 92 (now Revolution 91.7). After working as a DJ and program director, he knew he wanted to come home to Lexington and try his hand in public radio.
