WUKY / Ricochet Effect Woman of Distinction: Claudia Love Mair

WUKY

WUKY and Project Ricochet are celebrating Women’s History Month with the Inaugural Women of Distinction initiative. Each Monday you’re going to get to know some of the women who made our list for 2024. Today we feature an interview with celebrated author, teacher and inspirational leader,
Claudia Love Mair.

Claudia Love Mair is the author of 13 books, including the upcoming, Mourning Pages, from Broadleaf Books (2025). She holds an MFA in Writing from Spalding University and is the Coordinator for the Carnegie Center's Kentucky Black Writers Collaborative (KBWC). Claudia Love’s mission is to amplify marginalized voices, and her work at the Carnegie Center focuses on elevating Black voices. After losing her son to an overdose in 2021, Claudia Love realized she had a gift for comforting those who are grieving the loss of a loved one. This is just a sample of her interview with Ricochet Effect podcast co-host Renee Collins Cobb. You can hear the full interview by clicking the link below:
