Lawmakers who had been on the fence and voted pass earlier in the day, changed their votes to yes in order to move House Bill 1 forward.
The bill offers flex remote learning days and the ability to allow students to stay in school if they were exposed to COVID-19 but continued to test negative. It also puts masking decisions in the hands of local school leaders.
