Group Eligible For COVID Vaccine Expanding In Kentucky

University of Kentucky

Kentucky officials say the state is expanding the class of people eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccination. Meanwhile, Gov. Andy Beshear said at a news conference Thursday that the rate of positive tests edged up slightly to 3.95%, with 1,211 new cases of the disease reported in the state and 36 deaths.

Public Health Commissioner Dr. Steven Stack said the state is adding some people who might be at risk of severe illness to the class eligible for vaccination as of Monday. And Health and Family Services Cabinet Inspector General Adam Mather says visitation at nursing homes is also being expanded.
