Phase 1C COVID Vaccinations Will Begin In KY In March

The state is expanding the list of who can be vaccinated against COVID-19. On Monday, Governor Andy Beshear announced that regional COVID-19 vaccinations centers will move to 1C on March 1st.  That group includes:

  • All essential workers as designated by CDC (including grocery store employees, postal workers, media and public safety)
  • All 60 and older
  • All 16 and older with underlying conditions

Beshear said all sites will continue to also vaccinate anyone in Phase 1A and 1B who has yet to be vaccinated. State health officials say there are more than 1 million Kentuckians in Phase 1C. He will also be using this week as a "test run" to see how facilities handle a higher volume of vaccinations. Many sites will be doubling appointments to make up for those that were missed during winter storms over the last week and a half. Supplies that have been delayed because of the weather will also begin arriving this week.
