A wide-ranging 50-state survey tracking attitudes about the COVID-19 vaccines found that nearly a quarter of Kentuckians say they do not plan to get vaccinated.
Even as an increasing number of hesitant Kentuckians are now leaning toward getting the vaccine, according to Gov. Andy Beshear, data from the COVID States Projectfound 24 percent of Kentuckians would not get the vaccine.
The survey — run between December 16 and January 11 — discovered a further 22 percent said they would not receive the injections until at least some people they know have. Of the "soft nos," another 19 percent responded that they would wait until most people they know have been vaccinated.
Nationwide, the project found belief in COVID-19 vaccine misinformation is low overall, but higher in the 25-44 age group. On the whole, the report found misinformation "still poses challenges to a successful vaccination campaign."
