Kentucky's Mask Mandate Will Be Extended

Earlier this summer, Governor Andy Beshear issued a statewide mask mandate to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus in the state. When it expired after 30 days, he extended it for another month, which expires September 10th.

During Wednesday night’s press briefing, Beshear said he believes face coverings are working and he will extend the mandate again.  “It’s going to be more important than ever that we wear them. If we want to protect business. If we want to get our kids back in school. If we want to save lives, the number one thing we need to do is wear a mask and the number two thing we need to do is stay six feet apart.”

The mask mandate and other COVID-19 emergency executive orders issued by the Governor are being challenged in court. The State Supreme Court will hear arguments on September 17th.
