Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton has named Lisa Higgins-Hord the new Councilmember for the 6th District. The oath of office was administered Tuesday afternoon by Higgins-Hord’s aunt, Judge Pamela Goodwine. The city’s newest council member will fill the remaining four and a half months of Angela Evans term. Evans resigned last month after getting accepted to Princeton’s graduate program.
