Lexington Councilmember Resigns To Pursue Masters Degree

It was an emotional morning in the lobby of city hall for sixth district councilwoman Angela Evans. She is leaving her seat so that she can earn a Master’s degree in public policy at Princeton. Evans said it was hard to say what the future holds but she does want to serve again one day in Kentucky. Her tenure ends on July 31^st. Mayor Linda Gorton has one month to appoint someone for the seat and the council has 10 days to approve or disapprove the selection. Gorton said as of now she doesn’t have anyone specifically in mind for the job.
