Louisville Police are looking for a suspect in a ‘swatting’ incident. That’s when someone files report that ends with a SWAT team surrounding someone’s home but the call is a hoax. That’s what happened to Matt Mercurio. He lives alone, was in the shower getting ready for work and heard police on a bull horn demanding he come outside. A caller had claimed man and child had been killed inside the home so dozens of officers, armed in SWAT gear surrounded the area. Mercurio quickly surrendered.
Louisville Police are now looking for the person who made the bogus call. If caught and convicted, whomever is responsible could end up in prison for up to five years.
