The Lexington Herald Leader is reporting that a new investor has signed on to help with the CentrePointe construction project. The Webb Companies announced on Wednesday that Lexington-based Greer Companies is investing money and manpower into the venture.
Construction is nearly complete on an underground parking garage for the 12-story office tower. Developer Dudley Webb told the paper he has received the building permit for the office tower. He expects to get permits for a 12-story Marriott hotel and eight-floor Residence Inn extended stay hotel soon.
The Greer Companies has operated more than 60 restaurants. It also has franchise agreements with several hotel chains. One of those chains is Marriott.
CentrePointe has been in the works for the last decade. Back in June, Webb told local media the project is expected to be complete in the fall of 2018.
