A Kentucky native and UK grad will premier her first feature film at the Worsham Theater on campus Thursday.
Filmed primarily in Chicago a few years back,Jane’s Everlasting Heart Condition was a film that wound up requiring a little love from filmmaker Stephanie Wyatt’s home state.
"It was the epitome of a local community coming together to work on a project and helping me finish it," she says.
After the original negatives were partially corrupted, Wyatt had given up on the project. With the aid of Kentucky actors such as Bo List, Kathy Swango, and Mary Grogan, however, the film about two parallel love stories finally found its footing after languishing on the shelf for years. The end result has been described by viewers as "Reality Bites... along with a mixture of Alfonso Cuaron's 90s Great Expectations."
As for her plans, Wyatt says she hopes to submit the film to several film festivals in Chicago.
Curious Lexingtonians can catch a free screening of the film at UK’s Worsham Theater at 7 Thursday night.
