A Lexington man is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from his father, who suffered a stroke.
54 year old David McCoy was supposed to be caring for his 85-year-old father after the stroke but instead, he took his father's credit cards and used them to buy gas, cigarettes and pre-paid gift cards, according to court documents. McCoy is also accused of letting others use his father's Mercedes in exchange for drugs.
According to police, McCoy stole money from his father for four months and, in just one two-week period, stole $1,900. Family members turned him in because his father was afraid to, according to court documents.
