Gray Announces More Personnel Appointments

Lexington, KY – Jim Gray will be inaugurated as Lexington's next mayor January second. By then, he should have a full complement of assistant administrators in place.

Gray announced former general services commissioner Bob Ramsey will return to that position. Assistant Deputy Attorney General Janet Graham will head the law department. The mayor-elect also has teams of citizens looking at ways to improve city government.

"These work teams are examining inside-government functions, operational issues inside our government today, ways that we can improve ways that we can reduce the cost of our system," said Gray.

Gray says the teams will wrap up their analysis by the end of December. Gray says their deadline is the end of December.

"When we get the input of citizens who are informed especially about business methods methodology ways of operating that can contribute to government," said Gray.

Gray introduced Bob Ramsey as the new general services commissioner, a position Ramsey once held. Assistant Deputy Attorney General Janet Graham will head the city's law department.

He also announced Geoff Reed, who spent the last seven years as a policy adviser for Congressman Ben Chandler, will step in as the mayor's senior adviser for policy and government.

Former council member Jennifer Mossotti will serve as senior adviser for community and liaison to the council She sees herself listening in the community and to all 15 council members.

"Try to be out there listening and getting back this information to the mayor so we can have an open and transparent government that's part of his fresh start plan," said Mossotti.

Gray plans to announce more appointments next week. He assumes office on January 2nd.
