Lexington, KY – Elements of a violence against women prevention program developed at the University of Kentucky will now be implemented in 26 Kentucky High Schools thanks to a two million dollar grant from the Centers For Disease Control. Principal Investigator Ann Coker, says the goal is to adapt elements of UK's so-called "Green Dot" bystander intervention program, as a means of combating and preventing dating violence among teenagers.

UK is partnering with local rape crisis centers throughout the state as well as the Kentucky Association of Sexual Assault Programs to conduct the research. It'll launch in spring 2010.
