The Balm In Gilead is proud to announce Memory Sunday, a national awareness campaign to bring awareness to Alzheimer’s disease and its tremendous burden among African Americans. Memory Sunday is on Sunday, June 11.

Celebrating 28 years of service, The Balm In Gilead develops educational and training resources specifically designed to meet the unique needs of African Americans and African American congregations.  For Memory Sunday, The Balm in Gilead tapped the UK Sanders-Brown Center on Aging to develop materials for this international event. Visit the National Brain Health Center for African Americans at www.balmingilead.org to download free resources, including the Memory Sunday toolkit and The Book of Alzheimer’s, a resource guide for congregations. You can also order purple ribbons to wear for the entire month of June to show your support for Alzheimer’s education.

In addition, several other events have been planned to support the national mobilization of Memory Sunday. Events are listed at www.balmingilead.org.
