Lexington, KY – UK head basketball coach Billy Gillispie says this year's Wildcat team faces some major challenges .namely, replacing the reliable scoring and leadership of departed seniors Ramel Bradley and Joe Crawford, and the questionable health of returning stars Patrick Patterson and Jodie Meeks. In his first pre-season press conference, Gillispie preferred to take a glass half full approach praising the on and offcourt leadership of Patterson and Meeks, as well as the overall work ethic of his team. He promised they would "play hard, play smart, and play together".
The Wildcats open the pre-season November 3rd against Missouri St. Louis.
