The Wildcats climbed three spots in the AP poll from No. 15 and five places in the coaches poll from No. 17. Kentucky improved to 6-1 overall and 4-1 in Southeastern Conference play, extending its winning streak to five games.
The Wildcats are tied with Georgia atop the SEC standings and have won three conference road games for the first time since 2009.
Kentucky returns home Saturday, Oct. 24, to face Vanderbilt before entering a challenging stretch of the schedule that includes road games at Tennessee and Missouri and home matchups against Florida and Louisville.
Coach Will Stein said the focus remains on improving rather than rankings.
“I’m not really worried about where we’re ranked, what our record is,” Stein said after the win at Oklahoma. “It’s all about how we can improve.”
