The Saturday rally saw protesters holding the familiar signs urging resistance against the Trump administration and calling to a poll constitutional principles. But this time, the focus was squarely directed at energizing voters and mobilizing volunteers just weeks out from pivotal midterm elections.
"We're doing this differently. We've got four stations we want everyone to go to. The first one early voting right over here," an organizer announced.

Marion Madri with Kentuckians for the Commonwealth was making her way through the early crowd just ahead of the start time, gathering signatures.
"I am out here to make sure that we restore votes for our men and women with felonies in their past and also to get that vote out," she told WUKY.
Asked what's at stake in the midterms, she wasted no time with a blunt answer.
"Everything to me. I mean, it is very important that we protect our democracy," she said.
The events were billed as nonpartisan, even as they took place under the banner of No Kings, which has become a rallying cry for critics of President Donald Trump and the Republican-led Congress.
