The deadline to request an absentee ballot in Kentucky is fast approaching.

Absentee ballots can be utilized by registered voters who are sick, out-of-town during the in-person voting window, or face special circumstances.

Voters covered under the Kentucky Uniform Military and Overseas Act, students living outside the country, and incarcerated individuals who have not been convicted of the crime they are charged with are among the groups that can take advantage of voting absentee.

If a voter fits one or more of those categories, he or she can obtain an absentee ballot by visiting GoVote.KY.Gov.

Requests must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. October 20. The completed ballot must be returned to the Fayette County Clerk's Office by no later than 6 p.m. on November 3.
