Mandy Brajuha, Vice President of External Relations with the Kentucky Blood Center, says this donor gift is all things Dolly and won't last long.
"Before we even got to that day (of the initial event), we had already worked with our t-shirt company to order more shirts to bring it back. So now through Saturday, you can come out, donate blood and get a great collectors Dolly shirt." Brajuha says. "It's hot pink, it's got Dolly's beautiful hair on it, an inspirational quote from Dolly, and then we're still making that five dollar donation to the Imagination Library to help support literary projects here in Kentucky."
Along with helping a cause near and dear to Dolly's heart, Brajuha says your donation is filling a critical need for people here at home.
"We have seen really a record breaking summer as far as transfusions go at our local hospitals. Just more people in need of blood transfusions than what we normally see in the summer, which is usually a high time. That really hasn't waned as we've gone into fall," Brajuha said. "We're back in high schools, we're back at colleges, we're starting to see more donors, but we're still not necessarily keeping pace with demand."
The "Give Like Dolly" promotion runs through Saturday October 3rd while supplies last.
