More than 70 recommendations were included in the firm's review of the district's financial and budget procedures, a number of which are already underway.
But Monday saw the FCPS board fully endorse the plan, which calls for more standardized accounting processes, the establishment of a formal budget framework, and more comprehensive reimbursement documentation, among others.
Superintendent Dr. Bill Bradford said a dashboard would go live, providing the public with a window into the district's work, "so that everyone will be able to see, on their own time, progress that we were making towards each one of those deliverables within this specific corrective action plan."
That dashboard is now live. It can be found on the district's Community Transparency webpage.
As for reforms inside FCPS, interim CFO Kyna Koch noted that the current batch of recommendations won't be the final word.
"These are only the findings that Weaver put in their audit. We expect to see many more in the state audit," she said.
Koch also cautioned that some elements of the corrective action plan will take much longer than others. The original announcement of the audit findings suggested an 18-month timeline to complete the work.
