During a progress report Thursday, council members heard about efforts to improve the city’s response ahead of the upcoming winter season.
Officials identified several areas that need improvement, including communication, inconsistent execution of response plans and the need to adapt operations when conditions change.
As part of the updated plan, the city is working to clarify what needs to be done before a potential storm. The city also plans to place tablets in snow and ice removal trucks to improve communication and ensure crews have better coverage of their assigned routes.
The updated snow and ice plan is still being developed and is expected to be completed and available in October.
