UK removed Ramsi Woodcock from teaching duties over online posts, including one that suggested "every country in the world make war on Israel immediately." The court documents express concern about the comments creating a "hostile environment for Jewish students."
Woodcock has protested, describing the investigation and action against him as violations of his First Amendment rights.
Now, the state's attorney general, Russell Coleman — a Republican — is siding with UK. He wrote that "combating the poison of antisemitism is an urgent priority on college campuses and wherever the threat emerges."
Coleman has filed a brief in support of UK.
The Lexington Herald-Leader reports Woodcock’s lawsuit alleges UK has not shown an example of any specific anti-Jewish remark on his part.
