Man in Logan Tipton case to be released July 29

Associated Press

Ronald Exantus, the man convicted in connection with the 2015 attack that killed Logan Tipton, is scheduled to be released from the Kentucky State Reformatory on July 29 after completing his sentence.

Exantus was found guilty but mentally ill on assault charges in 2018 and found not guilty by reason of insanity in Tipton's death. His brief release to Mandatory Reentry Supervision in Florida last year sparked controversy before he was returned to Kentucky following the revocation of his supervision.

The case led Kentucky lawmakers to pass Logan's Law, which strengthens sentencing and parole requirements for violent offenders.
