Water rescue teams have been working around the clock since flooding in several Kentucky counties on Saturday 6/28/26.

In a post on X on Tuesday, Beshear announced two additional flood-related deaths in Hardin and Jefferson counties and offered condolences to the victims' families.

The update comes more than a week after heavy rain and repeated rounds of thunderstorms triggered widespread flooding across the commonwealth during the weekend of June 27.

Three of the victims were identified by the Madison County Coroner's Office as John Powell, 57, Patricia Bick, 51, and Garnett Isbell, 73, all of Richmond.

A fourth victim, Anthony Smith, 60, died in an automobile crash in Jackson County. While local officials said the crash did not occur in floodwaters, Beshear's office said the Kentucky Department for Public Health classified the death as flood-related because flooding is believed to have contributed to the accident.
