Journal Star

Glasser, who served as EKU's 10th president from 2001 to 2007, died Tuesday, according to Bradley University, where she later served as president.

Glasser made history as EKU's first officially appointed female president. During her six-year tenure, she led a period of significant growth, overseeing the construction of several major campus facilities, including a business and technology center, a student services center, a fitness and wellness center, and the expansion of the university through the EKU Corbin campus.

She also introduced academic programs in homeland security and professional golf management, helping establish new areas of study that gained national recognition.

While Glasser was the university's first official female president, university records note that Mary Creegan Roark served as EKU's first female acting president from 1909 to 1910.

After leaving EKU, Glasser became the first female president of Bradley University, serving from 2007 to 2015. During her tenure, she led a capital campaign that raised more than $150 million and oversaw major campus improvements while earning a reputation for her accessibility to students and alumni.

Glasser was 76.
