Associated Press

Former University of Kentucky star Randall Cobb is one step closer to football immortality. The National Football Foundation announced Monday that Cobb has been named to the 2027 ballot for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame.

A native of Alcoa, Tennessee, Cobb played for Kentucky from 2008 to 2010 and became one of the most versatile players in school history. He earned first-team All-America honors in 2010 and set the Southeastern Conference single-season record for all-purpose yards with 2,396. Cobb also finished his Wildcats career with a then-school-record 37 touchdowns.

Following his junior season, Cobb was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the 2011 NFL Draft. He went on to play 13 NFL seasons with the Packers, Cowboys, Texans, and Jets, totaling more than 7,600 receiving yards and 54 touchdowns.

Cobb has previously been inducted into the University of Kentucky Athletics Hall of Fame, the Kentucky Pro Football Hall of Fame, and the Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame.

The College Football Hall of Fame's 2027 class will be announced in early 2027. Voting closes July 1.
