Former Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin continues to tussle with a family court judge in Jefferson County. Bevin has twice failed to show up for in-person court dates, instead appearing via Zoom.

Bevin has been part of a protracted legal fight involving his ex-wife Glenna, and their estranged son, Jonah — who has accused his adoptive parents of leaving him stranded in an abusive boarding school in Jamaica.

The ex-governor has been at odds with Judge Angela Johnson over financial documents she says he has failed to deliver in full. Bevin was found in contempt and an arrest warrant was issued, which called for 14 days in jail or the payment of a $250 fine. Court documents show the fine was paid and the warrant was recalled.

The events saw a repeat last Friday with the warrant being reactivated due to Bevin's failure to appear in person. Again, the fine was paid and the arrest warrant was recalled.

Bevin has argued he's currently dealing with property damage in Maine. Yet the dispute over financial records remains ongoing, with Bevin now facing a June 5 deadline to turn over the materials.

The former Republican governor has sought to have Judge Johnson removed, claiming she will not provide a "fair and impartial" trial.
