Lexington's newest elementary school is set to open next year. Check to see if your student may be rezoned

Nearly 750 elementary students could be moved to a new school as Fayette County opens a new elementary school in 2027.

According to a news release, studentsattending Booker T. Washington, Coventry Oak, Meadowthorpe, and Sandersville are most likely to be affected by the rezoning.

The changes are part of a plan to route students into Helen Caise Wade Elementary, which is expected to open its doors in fall of '27.

The plan, which is currently in draft form, can be accessed online at fcps.net/RightSize. Parents can also enter their addresses to see if the proposal would affect their children.

The district is also planning to host a public meeting regarding the proposed rezoning. FCPS staff will be on hand to explain the plan and take questions. The meeting is set for 5:30 Thursday, May 28 at the STEAM Academy on Georgetown Road.

A link to submit feedback online is also at fcps.net/RightSize.
