Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie is weighing in on the departure of Attorney General Pam Bondi, with whom he frequently clashed over the Epstein files release.

Massie has become a leading voice, alongside California Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna, in the effort to force the Justice Department to release files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. After news of Bondi's exit, Khanna linked the dismissal to the battle over the files.

"Thomas Massie and I stood up to President Trump. We forced him to fire his own attorney general," Khanna said.

On social media, Massie applauded Bondi's firing and addressed new Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche — writing, "Congratulations AG Blanche. Now you have 30 days to release the rest of the files before becoming criminally liable for failure to comply with the Epstein Files Transparency Act."

Massie told the BBC he believed Bondi was "earnestly ready to release the files" at the beginning of the second Trump administration, but was then told to handle a cover-up.
